Rosanne T. (Kirkell) Shay of Marion, formerly of Whitman, died Friday March 20th peacefully at home surrounded by her family, after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of 41 years to Dennis Shay. Rosanne was born in West Bridgewater, daughter of Grace (Jackson) Kirkell and the late Charles Kirkell .She was brought up in Whitman by her father, the late Charles Kirkell and his wife Betty Kirkell. She was a graduate of Whitman high School class of 1958.
Her and her husband moved to California, where they managed a Mobile Home Park for 18 years, before moving back to Marion.
Rosanne taught One Stroke Painting, enjoyed crafts, gardening, reading and she loved being with her family.
In addition to her loving husband of 41 years, she is survived by her five children, Robert Folsom and his wife Carol of Bridgewater, Lori Lynch and her husband Michael of NH., Vicki Sullivan and her husband John of Whitman, Mark Shay of Plymouth and Denise Briggs and her husband Kevin of Marion, her sisters Kathy Porter of Hanover, Laurie Chaves of RI and Susan O’Reily of Weymouth: also 12 grandchildren and 1 great grand child. She was also the sister of the late Joanne Roundtree.
A celebration of her life with friends and family will be held on Sunday March 22nd at her daughter’s home at 5 Edgewater Lane, Marion, MA 02738 from 1:00-6:00PM.
