Obituary

David Record, 63, of Northwest 66th Avenue, Margate, died on Monday, June 16, 2003, at the Conway Medical Center, Conway, S.C., following a lengthy illness. He was born in Derry, N.H., on March 24, 1940, a son of the late Robert G. and Louise (Gidcumb) Record. He was a resident of Margate for 10 years, formerly living in Arizona. Mr. Record was a U.S. Navy seabee veteran who was 100 percent VA disabled while serving two tours in Vietnam. He served in Guantanamo Bay (known as Gitmo) Cuba during the Kennedy era and also in Rota, Spain. After his discharge from the Navy, he devoted his life to caring for his disabled younger brother, Daryl.

His is survived by his brother, Robert G. Record Jr. of Gulfport, Miss.; his sister, Katherine (Record) Marshall of Conn.; his sister-in-law, MaryAnn Record of Rye, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by two brothers, Delton Record, Daryl Record, and his sister, Pauline Record.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2003, at Forest Hill Cemetery, Hampstead Road, East Derry, N.H. In recognition of his commitment to his disabled brother Daryl, memorial contributions may be made to the Great Bay School, 2061 Woodbury Avenue, Newington, NH 03801-2893.
