John B. Cervone II, 76, died at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford on Friday, beloved husband of Diana M. (King) for the past 50 years. A life long resident he was the son of the late John B. and Concetta (Vasta) Cervone.
He graduated from Medford High School and captained the High School Basketball Team in his Sr. Year.
He later enrolled in the University of Maine and graduated with a degree in eduaction.During World War II he enlisted in the Navy and after the War he joined the family business, B. Cervone & Sons a contracting firm in Medford, that he managed untill his retirement.
Active in the Medford community he was a member of the Medford Lodge of Elks and the Redskin Club. He enjoyed helping people and most of all his ten loving grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Diana, he is survived by his two sons, John B. III of Medford, and Joseph P. of Colorado, three daughters Diana Y. Cervone Gintner and Jacqueline Cervone of Medford, and Paula Cervone Noll of Pennsylvania. Ten Loving Grandchildren, His sister Phyllis Picariello of Medford, his two brothers Joseph of Florida and Leonard of Somerville.
Preceding him in death was his sister Mary DeVincent, his three brothers Pat, Placido and Isadora Cervone.
The Funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford on Wednesday, January 9th at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 11. The Rev. David Meskell officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Friends may visit Monday and Tuesday from 4 thru 8. at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
