Gaetana “Bea” Bencivenga, a long-time Medford resident, died March 5th at Baypoint Nursing and Rehab. She was 97.
Mrs. Bencivenga was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Ferdinando and the late Sarah Nicosia. A loving wife mother and grandmother Bea was a delightful neighbor and friend to many. An expert in the kitchen, the aroma of her Italian cooking wafted throughout the neighborhood. Family and friends never left her table hungry. Bea was also an avid bingo player.
The wife of the late Anthony Bencivenga with whom she shared 61 years of marriage, Bea leaves her son Anthony Bencivenga Jr. and his wife Laurel of Port St. Lucie, Fla., 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Saturday, March 21st from 8 - 9:30 AM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a Funeral Mass offered in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, Saturday at 10 am. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
