Jamie Lynn “Pork Chop” Sawyer, 32, of Fitzgerald, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, March 21 at New Corinth Holiness Church with Rev. Joey Dean officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Wilcox County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Thursday and Friday evenings at the funeral home.
Mr. Sawyer was born August 7, 1976 in Tift County to H.L. Sawyer and Geneva H. Walters. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Sawyer enjoyed old cars and motorcycles as his hobby. He lived in the community most of his life. He attended New Corinth Holiness Church.
Along with his parents he is survived by his wife, Kathy Sawyer of Fitzgerald; children; Renee Walker, Katherine Walker, Dovie Walker, Jamie L. Sawyer Jr., Kassidy Sawyer, Christopher Sawyer, Tiffany Sawyer, Cameron Sawyer, Elizabeth Paul, Kimberly Paul, and Austin Baldree, all of Fitzgerald and Brianna Spicer of Enigma; brother William Sawyer of Tifton, sisters; Melinda Gallegos of Fitzgerald, Belinda Collier of Enigma, and Jackie Sawyer of Tifton as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Anthony Howell.
