Estelle Marion (Coulombe) Couture, a 6 year resident of Georgetown and formerly of Charlestown, died on Monday, March 16, 2009, at Radius Health Care Nursing Home in Danvers following an extended illness. She was 87 years old.
Estelle was born in Lowell. She grew up in Lowell, where she attended St. Jeanne d'Arc Elementary School and Notre Dame High School. She also attended nursing school at Holy Ghost Hospital in Cambridge. Estelle worked for more than 25 years as a receptionist at Charlestown Vision Associates. She was a girl scout leader in Charlestown and a member of The Charlestown Garden Club.
Estelle is the beloved wife of the late Albert D. Couture. She is the devoted mother of Judith Crowley of Hanson, Pauline Doherty of Chelsea, Michele Palladino of Arizona and Janice Staffiery of New Hampshire. She is the loving grandmother of 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Rita Foley of Springfield, the late Cora Poirier, Annette Fillion and Alice Trudeau.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday morning, March 21, 2009, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren Street, Charlestown, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
