AUGUSTA, GA – Mrs. Doris G. Roth died peacefully Sunday, March 15, 2009 at 86 years of age. Doris, a native of New Orleans, LA, lived in Augusta for the past 40 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Kenneth H. Roth. Doris was a devoted wife, a caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always enjoyed gathering with friends and family; she will be missed by those who knew her through the church, her bridge clubs, her needlepoint groups, as well as the many others whose lives she touched along the way.
She is survived by her children Kendra Sheldon (Mike) of Augusta, James Roth (Cathy) of Enterprise, AL, Janice Ligon (Paul) of New Braunfels, TX, Mary Solis (Vance) of Dallas, TX, Kenneth Roth (Michelle) of Charlotte, NC; 22 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday March 20, 2009 at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Van Alstine celebrant. A vigil service will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday March 19, 2009 at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church.
