Helenmarie (Barden) Butterworth, 71, a lifelong resident of Lawrence, MA., passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2009 surrounded by her loving husband and children in Florida where she wintered.
Helenmarie was born in Lawrence and attended St. Patrick's Grammar School and was a 1957 graduate of Lawrence High School. Upon her graduation, Helenmarie had worked for the Lawrence Electric Company for four years. She then stayed home to raise her children. After her children had grown, Helenmarie went to work part time at Town Printing in Andover. She then went on to work as a Cafeteria Aid at the Lawrence Vocational School until her retirement in 1999. Even after her retirement, Helenmarie volunteered at St. Patrick's School for the school lunch program. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Ladies Sodality. Watching her grandchildren was one of Helenmarie's biggest joys.

3 children: Kathleen and her husband Bill Fitzgerald of Lawrence, MA., Eileen and her husband Michael Lewis of Londonderry, N.H., and Nancy and her husband Rob Gillette of Phoenix, AZ.
3 grandchildren: Catherine and Colleen Lewis, and Gabriella Gillette as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her brother-in-laws: Leo Brooks and Emil Mikula.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Patrick's Church in Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in North Andover, MA. Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA.
