Obituary

Philip J. Carpenter, 82, passed away peacefully at the Anna Maria Rest Home, Tuesday, March 17, 2009. His wife, Harriet “Betty” (Redfield) Carpenter, died in 1977. He leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Marie Carpenter, and a daughter, Phyllis Gray.

Philip Joseph Carpenter was born in Worcester, son of Irene (Blais) and Joseph P. Carpenter. He was a WWII Navy veteran and served in the Massachusetts State Guard. Mr. Carpenter was a truck driver and machinist for Reed Plastics until his retirement.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 20, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 695 Southbridge Street, Worcester MA 01610. A period of visitation will be held at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Flowers may be sent or donations made to the Church.
