Brunswick- Mrs. Judy Rentz, age 69, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009 at Chatuge Regional Hospital in Hiawassee after a lengthy battle with cancer. Mrs. Rentz moved with her husband Larry Rentz to Jesup in 1965 and then to Brunswick in 1990. After their move, she kept strong family ties to Wayne County. She attended Bay Harbour Church of God in Brunswick, was an excellent wife, mother, grandmother and will be missed by all that knew her.
Surviving is her husband: Larry T. Rentz of Brunswick; mother: Katherine Chanley of Brunswick; two daughters: Roxine and husband Richard Denison of Brunswick and Melissa Rentz of Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren: Jessica Mobley, Seth Mobley and Travis and wife Kerry Thornton; step-grandson: Chris Denison; three step great-grandchildren: Levi, Katie, and Devon Adams; two brothers: William “Mike” and wife Nita Chanley of South Carolina and Jay Chanley of Deltona, FL; one sister: Susan and husband Butch Perkins of Tampa, FL; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20, 2009 at 2 p.m. from the Unity Church of God with Reverend Eric Rentz and Reverend Ricky Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John Shaver, Charlie Hubbard, Ray Rawlins, Larry Butler, Walt Swafford and Richard Denison.
