Cecil Barrineau, 93, of Irwin County died Friday, March 13, 2009, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 4 P.M., Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Couey officiating. Interment will follow in the McMillan Cemetery, Berrien County. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Barrineau was born September 19, 1915 in Alapaha, Georgia to the late Charles Reid and Millie Fletcher Barrineau. He attended the Irwin County Schools and was a farmer. Mr. Barrineau was an avid airplane pilot and lived most of his life in Irwin and Berrien Counties.
He is survived by two sisters: Martha B. Boggus of Fitzgerald and Margaret Scott of Augusta; five brothers: Billy Barrineau of Fitzgerald, Pete Barrineau of Douglas, Raymond Barrineau of Augusta, Emory Barrineau of Tallahassee, FL and Edwin Barrineau of Jacksonville, FL; a very special niece: Pat Barrineau of Fitzgerald, as well, as other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Elizabeth Singletary, Hazel Yancey, and Jewell Aspinwall.
