Obituary

Rosemarie DiMarzo York, 65 of Arlington and Medford died unexpectedly Tuesday in the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, NC while traveling to Florida with her husband Walter.

Mrs. DiMarzo York was born in Somerville, the daughter of the late Mary (Polito) and Luigi DiMarzo. She was a life long resident of Medford. She was a Secretary in the Healthcare Industry and also a Social Worker. She was full of life with a wonderful sense of humor. She loved people. She was a selfless woman who was always helping those in need. As an active member at the Senior Center in Medford, she was a devoted advocate for the elderly. As a past board member of SCM transportation and being sight impaired herself, she was very active in the blind community. Rose worked diligently to ensure that the city of Medford had all the aids for sight impaired and disabled residents. She was a member of the Eliot and Triangle Clubs in Malden.

Beloved wife and best friend to Walter H.York. Devoted mother to AnnMarie Zocchi and her husband Stephen of Arlington. Loving Nana to Justin Louis and Jennifer Rose Zocchi. Cherished Stepmother to Edward York and his wife Joann of Everett. Step Grandmother to Amanda, EJ and Anastsyia York of Everett. Dear sister to the late Vincent D., Joseph L. Asunta L., and Anna M. DiMarzo. Also survived by many cousins, niece and nephews.

Relatives and friends may visit Monday from 4 thru 8 at Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford Tuesday at 10AM. Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
