Methuen, MA- Rocco J. DeFruscio, 95, died on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Caritas Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
Born in Lawrence, MA, son of Antonio and Carmella(Cascone) DeFruscio, Rocco and his parents, moved to Italy when he was 6, where he completed his education. Returning to the United States, at the age of 16, Rocco worked for over 40 years as a Union carpenter in the Lawrence area.
Rocco attended St. Lucy’s Church in Methuen, and enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, and gardening. One of his biggest joys was spending time with his grand, great and great-great-grandchildren.
The widower of Carmella (Antonelli), Rocco is survived by his son, Anthony J. DeFruscio and his wife Barbara of Salem, NH, his 4 grandchildren, Kathryn Gugliotta and her husband David of Londonderry, NH, Patricia Marquette and her husband Wayne of Brookline, NH, Sandra Dykens and her husband Daniel of Clifton Park, NY and David A. DeFruscio and his wife Harmony of Manchester, NH. He is also survived by his 12 great-grandchildren, Bridget, Jennifer and Megan Gugliotta, Sean, Danielle and Kristen Marquette, Shawna and Brianna Dykens and Dawna, Anthony, Alyna, and Joseph DeFruscio as well as 3 great-great granddaughters, Kaleigh, Natalia and Carmella.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday morning, March 16th, 2009 from 9-10:30 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence, St. Methuen, MA 01844 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Lucy’s Church in Methuen at 11 AM.
