Obituary

SHERER, ROSS E., beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 10, 2009.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Weis Sherer; his daughter, Jennifer Sherer Littrell (Michael) ; and granddaughter, Rachel Littrell.
Ross was preceded in death by his father, Harold Sherer; and his mother, Odella Bentley Sherer.
Ross was born in East Canton, Ohio on January 9, 1937. He attended Case Institute in Cleveland, OH for three years but completed his bachelor's degree at the University of Washington with a major emphasis in forestry. It was at the University of Washington he met his future wife and they were married in Seattle. He completed a MBA at Yale University. Ross spent the last 25 years of his career with Kingsford Products Company, a division of Clorox. His many Kingsford assignments led the couple to live in numerous US locations where Ross enjoyed different sports, especially skiing and golf. Ross was an avid University of Kentucky fan and collected numerous UK paraphernalia. He was a member of the St Andrews United Church of Christ. Ross did extensive research on his German legacy and his wife's German heritage. He was active in the Louisville Genealogical Society and had served as treasurer of the organization in addition to helping with the preparation of data for books published by the society.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Owen Funeral Home - Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd. with private burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is 10 a.m. Saturday until time of service.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Hospice or St Andrews United Church of Christ.
