G. Leonard “Lenny’ McIntosh a lifelong Needham resident died on Tuesday march 10 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He was 76 years old. Mr. McIntosh was a graduate of Needham High School Class of 1951. He attended Bentley School of Finance before enlisting in the US Air Force in 1952. He was a Korean War Veteran and was discharged in 1957. From 1957-1960 Lenny attended Babson College.
He worked in the Accounting Dept. of the William Carter Company, and was employed by Rimmele’s Market. For 10 years, Lenny worked for Bergson’s Ice Cream as an assistant manager and manager. From 1967 – 1980 Lenny owned and operated Needham News. For 18 years he drove 18 wheelers cross country for Victory Trucking. Lenny also worked in the accounting department and parts department for Muzi Ford as well as a parts driver for Wellesley Volkswagen. Lenny was employed by Vita Needle in Needham through 2008. Lenny was a member of the American Legion. Very active in the Masonic Order, Lenny was a Past master of Nehoiden Lodge, a member of Norfolk Lodge and Wellesley Lodge. He was a Past Master of Waltham Triad. Lenny was active in the Scottish Rite and Consistory and was a Past Commander of the York Rite. Past Commander of Demolay # 7.
The beloved husband for 52 years of the late Evelyn (Atkinson) McIntosh, he was the loving father of Don L. McIntosh of Henderson, NV, Joy McIntosh of Coconut Grove, FL and Kim McIntosh of Needham. Dear grandfather of Nathan Murray of Fort Benning, GA, Ryan Murray and his wife Stacie of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Daniel L. McIntosh of Las Vegas ,NV and great grandfather of Connor Murray. Funeral services at the Christ Episcopal Church 1132 Highland Ave Needham on Monday March 16 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave. Needham on Sunday from 4-7 PM. Interment private. In lieu of flowers donations in Lenny’s name may be made to the Nehoiden Lodge Scholarship or Angel Fund, 1101 Highland Avenue Needham MA 02494.
