Elvira P. “Vera” (Pichierri) Steeves, 86, of Mansfield, a Franklin native and former longtime resident, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at home, surrounded by her family. She was the former wife of the late Milton Steeves.
Born in Franklin, March 2, 1923, a daughter of the late Arthur and Filomena (Faenza) Pichierri, she lived in Mansfield since 1964.
She was raised and educated in Franklin, and was a 1941 graduate of Franklin High School. Mrs. Steeves was a solderer at the former Sinclair Mfg. Co. in Norton, and had also worked as a cashier at the former Fernandes and Superplace Supermarket in Mansfield.
Her life was her family, and she enjoyed sewing and crafting.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Ann M. Steeves of Lake Forest, CA, Carol J. Carpentier of Foxboro, Patricia L. Wasoka of Avon, CT; a sister: Yolanda Mycue of Avon, CT; 5 grandchildren: Lindsay, Kim & Brian Carpentier, Jamie and Dan Wasoka.
She was the sister of the late Louis and Alfred Pichierri, Ida Sullivan and Rose Kulibaba.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Monday at 8:15 AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street, www.franklinfuneral.com with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Church Square, Franklin, at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.
