Pueblo, CO- Christina M (Conder) McLeod, 88, died on Friday, February 20,2009 in Pueblo, Colorado. Born on March 25, 1920, in Dawson, New Mexico, Christina was the daughter of Charles and Angela (Bartalussi) Conder.
Christina received her education in the Walsenburg, Colorado school system. She served in the United States Army during WWII where she attained the rank of Tech 4 Sergeant. On April 21, 1945 she was united in marriage to Harold McLeod at Fort Lewis, Washington.
Mrs. Mcleod was employed by the IRS, in Andover, for sixteen years and was an office manager and bookkeeper for St. Anthony’s Maronite Church for twelve years.
Christina was a attendant of St. Lucy’s Parish as well as a member of it’s Ladies Sodality for over 50 years. She also belonged to the Methuen Senior Center and was an active participant of their choral group known as the “Happy Heart Singers”. Chrisitna was perhaps most proud of her affiliation with the American Legion post 417 in Methuen where she held the office of Commander.
She was a resident of Methuen for fifty- two years and moved back to her home state of Colorado in 1998.
Christina was the widow of Harold McLeod who died in 1980. She is survived by her sister, Caroline Todd, of Pueblo West, CO. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brother, Charles Conder, and sisters, Elda Conder and Edith Shell.
ARRANGEMENTS: At the family’s request, there will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to join the family for a Funeral Mass to be held at St. Lucy’s Parish on Saturday, March 14th, at 11 am. A private burial will be held at a later date. Donations in Christina’s memory can be made to St. Lucy’s Parish, 254 Merrimack St, Methuen, MA 01844 or St. Anthony’s Maronite Church, 145 Amesbury Street - Lawrence, MA 01841.
