TEWKSBURY - Karl L. Heidenrich Jr., age 84, a second generation farmer and dairyman fromTewksbury, died Sunday morning, June 8, at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell, after alengthy illness. He was the husband of Mary T. (O’Connor) Heidenrich, with whom he wouldhave celebrated a 53rd wedding anniversary on June 24th.
He was born in Lowell, July 30, 1918, a son of the late Karl and Ottillie (Zaijicek) Heidenrich. Helived in Tewksbury his entire life and attended Tewksbury public schools.
He was co-owner of the Heidenrich Dairy Farm in West Tewksbury, along with his brother Frank. The farm was founded by their father.
Upon retirement, and sale of the farm property, he workedpart time for Blanchard’s Bus Company in Tewksbury, which is now Tewksbury Transit Co.
Mr. Heidenrich was a lifelong communicant of St. William’s Church, where he also was a memberof the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Friends of Tewksbury Hospital, and also hadserved on the town’s Finance Committee.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Ronald Black ofTewksbury, one granddaughter, Heidi K. Black, a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Margaret(Downey) Heidenrich of Tewksbury, and many nieces and nephews.He was also brother of the late Sophie Hoare, Tillie Powers, Helen Heidenrich and ElsieHeidenrich.
His FuneralMass will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte 38) Tewksbury. Visiting hours Tuesday 5 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery,Lowell.
