Leslie E. (Pielocik) Hopper 50, of Franklin died March 7 surrounded by friends and family.
Born in Worcester on October 22, 1958, she was the daughter of Boleslaus “Bill” Pielocik and his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” (Reardon) Pielocik of Lakeland, Florida.
Leslie was a 1976 graduate of Clinton High School. She graduated from Quinsigammond Community College in 1985. She graduated from Mt. Ida College with her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology in 1987.
An advocate for animals, she worked for many years as a veterinary technician. She was involved in clean–up efforts after Hurricane Andrew in south Florida in 1992. She later became involved in the management of animal vivariums and was a member of AAALAS since the 1990’s.
Leslie was an avid reader and video game player. A nature and animal lover, her favorite trip was to Kenya for a six-week Paeloanthropology course. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her niece and two nephews.
Along with her parents, Leslie leaves her three brothers; William P. Pielocik and his wife, Carol of Lakeland, Florida, Mark Pielock and his wife, Betsy of Franklin and Gary Pielocik and his wife, Trina of Blackstone. She also leaves her niece, Paige Pielocik and two nephews, Shane and Ben Pielocik, along with many cousins and aunts and uncles.
Her memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 15 at 3:00 p.m. in the Hopedale Unitarian Church, 65 Hopedale Street in Hopedale.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory to the Dana–Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, Ma 02115 will be gratefully appreciated.
