Obituary

DRACUT: Bruce E. Campbell age 46, a resident of Dracut for 23 years, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2009 following an extended illness.

He was the beloved husband of Lisa A. (Vecchi) Campbell with whom he would have celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary on March 13th.

Born in Lowell on June 27, 1962, he was the devoted son of Mary Jane (Farley) Campbell of Tewksbury and the late Bruce F. Campbell.

Bruce was raised in Tewksbury, attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in 1980.

He was employed for 25 years as an electrician by the I.B.E.W Local # 103.

Bruce was a communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Church of Dracut.

He was an outdoorsman and particularly enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition, he was a sports fan and liked watching the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins. Bruce’s greatest enjoyment came from watching his own children participate in their athletic endeavors.

Bruce also had a passion and talent for cooking and in earlier years worked as a chef for the Andover Country Club.

In addition to his wife Lisa, and his mother Mary Jane, he is survived by four children, Ashley E., Geoffrey B., Daniel J. and Kimberly M. Campbell all of Dracut; one brother, Brian F. Campbell of Florida; three sisters, Maureen F. Dunlevy and her husband John of Georgetown, Heather M. Ward and her husband Kevin of Tewksbury and Kathleen A. Pontes and her companion Darwin J. Lehigh of N. Andover; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marcia and Daun Vecchi of Tewksbury; his sister-in-law, Diane M. Howes and her husband Steven of Windham, NH; his brothers-in-law, Dennis J. Vecchi and his wife Christina of Andover, Jeffrey D. Vecchi and his wife Tanya of West Newbury, and Joseph S. Vecchi and his wife Suzanne of Methuen; also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours Wednesday, March 11th, 4-8 p.m., at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. Funeral Thursday, March 12th, at 9:30 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Tyngsboro Road, Dracut. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Mary Magdalen Church, c/o Building Fund, P.O. Box 100, Tyngsboro, MA 01879 are suggested.
