LEICESTER-Bridget (Scanlon) Doyle, 80, of Leicester, died Monday, March 9th in UMASS-Memorial Medical Center, University Campus. She leaves her husband of 51 years, John Doyle; two sons, John M. Doyle and his wife Maureen of Leicester, and James M. Doyle and his wife Jacqueline of Sudbury; two daughters, Anne Marie Doyle of Waltham and Mary T. Doyle of Worcester; six grandchildren; and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, John Scanlon and a sister, Mary Neylon.
She was born in County Clare, Ireland, the daughter of James and Mary (Petty) Scanlon and moved here in 1952. Mrs. Doyle was a cafeteria worker for the City of Worcester School Department for many years. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church, Worcester, and a former member of its Women’s Guild.
The funeral is Thursday, March 12th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Wednesday, March 11th from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
