Obituary

Anna-Mae Brangwynne nee (Martin) died 3/7/09. Born in Old Town, Maine in 1933, she was the daughter of George H. & Emma M. (Bosse) Martin.
Mrs. Brangwynne graduated from Old Town High School in 1950. She was in business with her mother and sister in the 1940’s at Chez Marie Emma’s specialty shop. She was a Cub Scout leader from 1961-1986. During that time she was involved in various leadership activities for Boston Council. In recognition, she received the Catholic Corrigan medal and the Silver Fawn award (the highest award for women in scouting) from National Council.

Anna-Mae was predeceased by her beloved “Bob”, her husband of 46 years, as well as her sister, Florence Wheeler.

She leaves her 7 children and 12 grandchildren:
Muriel Castronova and Alfred; R. Martin and children Leza & Paul; John and wife Vivian and children Jennifer & Marybeth; Carol O’Keefe and husband Richard and son Ryan; Pamela Kostaras and husband Christopher and children Nicholas & Alexandra; William and children Michael & Shannon; James and wife Fadia and children Amanda, Kristin & Erica.

She also leaves her brother G. Uriel Martin and wife Pat, her niece Michelle Caron, the extended Brangwynne family, as well as Suzanne McArdle, Kathleen O’Donahue and Brian Reynolds. Also survived by many close and dear friends and neighbors.

Visiting hours in the John J. O’Connor & Son Funeral Home, 740 Adams Street, (near Gallivan Blvd) DORCHESTER, on Wednesday from 4-8pm. Realtives and friends respectfully invited to attend, Funeral Services and Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Anna-Mae’s name to the Boy Scouts of America.
