Richard C. “Dick” Crowell, of Medfield and North Falmouth, formerly of Needham, died on Saturday, March 7, 2009. He was 76 years old. Mr. Crowell grew up in Dorchester and moved to Needham to raise a family. Dick was a Korean War US Army veteran. He was a retired contractor and builder with McNeil & Associates Inc, which planned and developed low and moderate income housing for the elderly for over 35 years. Dick was also a consultant for the Cornerstone Corporation in Westwood. He built many homes, including his own in Needham and North Falmouth. Dick was a Deacon and Trustee of the First Baptist Church in Needham. He was a former Little League Baseball coach and Cub Scout leader. Mr. Crowell especially enjoyed summers in North Falmouth. He was an avid sailor, swimmer and golfer. He was the beloved husband of Corinne M. (Marcus), and the loving father of Dr. Richard C. Crowell and his wife Deirdre of Medfield, Cherie Crowell Baily and her husband Michael of Naperville, IL, Ted Crowell and his wife Susan of Needham and Cynthia Crowell –Feeley and her husband Charlie of Medfield. Cherished grandfather of Charlie, Corinna, Christina, Anne Marie, Clare, Andrew, Matthew, Grace and Andrey. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, 858 Great Plain Ave Needham on Wed. March 11th at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Tuesday 4-8 PM. Interment services in North Falmouth will be Private.
