Joan I. (Bowers) Mayo, 69, died Sunday, March 8 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Born in Bridgeport, CT, she was a graduate of Sharon High School. Ms. Mayo was a longtime resident of Florida before moving to Stoughton 6 months ago. She was a home health care worker in Florida for many years before retiring 8 years ago.
Ms. Mayo is survived by her children, Catherine I. Ienello and Robert C. Mayo both of Stoughton and Richard K. Mayo of FL, as well as her grandchildren, Lauren Ienello and Alexander Mayo. She was the sister of Russell Bowers of TN and the late Kenneth Bowers.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Thursday, March 12 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday 5-8 PM. Burial will be private.
