Obituary

Lawrence, MA- Joseph Laverriere Jr., 80, a life long resident of Lawrence, died Friday March 6, 2009 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton.

The son of Joseph and Yvonne (Deschenes), Joe was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and then went on to attend Lowell Technical College. For 39 years Joe worked at Lawrence Pumps until his retirement as a sales manager.

Joseph was an attendant of St. Augustine’s Church in Andover. He was an avid card player, coin collector, and also enjoyed golfing in his younger days.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Angela (Gelineau), one son Kenneth and his wife Patricia of Lloyd Harbor, NY, his four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kate, Caroline, and Gregory, two sisters, Dorothy Pepin of Merrimac, MA, and Lucille Camire and her husband George of Salem, NH, and his close sister-in-law Denise Sarcione and her husband Vincent of Methuen, as well as several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family may pay their respects on Monday, March 9, 2009 from 5-8 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Hone, Inc. 233, Lawrence St., Methuen. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday, March 10th at 10 am at St. Augustine’s Church in Andover with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy those who wish may make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
