Dominic A. Cordima, 84 died Thursday night at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington after a brief illness. Raised and educated in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Grace (DiFrancisco) and Tomaso Cordima.
After his marriage to his late wife Maria R. (DIModica) they moved their home to Woburn where they raised their family. He retired from High Voltage Engineering of Burlington.
Later suffering a stroke he and his wife moved to Burlington with his son Tom and his family who cared for them the last fifteen years. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater, and was a member of the Dilboy VFW Post #529 of Somerville.
Surviving are two sons Thomas S. Cordima Sr. and his wife Mary Lou of Burlington, Sebastiano M. Cordima and his wife Audrey of Meriden, NH. One daughter Virginia C. Cordima of Waltham
He was the beloved grandafather of Thomas S. Cordima Jr., Mary L. Waitkus, Cheryl L. Cordima,Tammy M. Reveal, Dominic J. Cordima, Rene Badger, Gina WrightDaniel Cordima and Michael Cordima.
Also surviving are seven loving great grandchildren,
Funeral mass will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM in St. Margaret Church, 109 Winn St., Burlington, the Rev John E. Buckley officiating. Interment will be in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Friends may visit Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
