Obituary

LEICESTER: Robert F. Lyon, 89, of 1629 Main St., died Wednesday, March 4 at his home.
He was the husband of Elaine R. (Mondor) who died in 2001. He leaves a son Barry F. Lyon and his wife Lorraine of Leicester, 3 daughters; Roberta "Bobbe" Bisson and her husband Michael of Leicester, Penny M. Swanson of Harwich, Joanne M. Lyon of No. Providence, R.I., 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Dorothea Lofgren.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of Elmer F. & Ruth (Dartt) Lyon.
Mr. Lyon worked as a metallurgist at Wyman Gordon in Worcester for 36 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a graduate of Leicester High School. He was a member of the Cherry Valley American Legion Post 443 and the Rochdale VFW Post 7556. He served his country in the Army during WWII. He drove a school bus and for the F.I.S.H. program in Leicester for several years. He enjoyed watching sports and going camping and above all spending time with his family.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 7 at 10 A.M. in the MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private for the family in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Leicester Ambulance Fund, 3 Washburn Sq., Leicester, MA. 01524.
