Rose F. (Souza) Rego age 89, a resident of Fall River for many years, passed away March 4, 2009 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Wife of the late Agostino Rego. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline (Correia) Souza. Before retiring in 1984, Rose worked as a Sewing Machine Operator at Merit Dress Co. She was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church of SS Peter & Paul Parish. She was a Hospice volunteer for many years and a volunteer at St. Anne’s Hospital.
She was a devoted mother to Russell A. Rego & girlfriend Linda Martin of No. Kingstown, RI and Betty Jeanne Soares & husband Richard of Fall River, MA. She also leaves her sister: Evelyn Cordeiro of Fall River. 11 Grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Alfred P. Rego and sister of the late John & Joseph Souza, & Mary Shannon.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. SATURDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Church of SS Peter & Paul Parish, Pulaski St. at 9:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
