Obituary

Mildred Margaret (Mann) Spencer, a resident of Medford for more than 60 years and beloved wife of the late Charles L. Spencer, died at Brighten at Medford Nursing Center in Medford on Sunday, March 1, 2009. She was 90 years old.
Born in England, Mildred was the beloved daughter of the late William Garfield and Eva (Carne) Mann. Mrs. Spencer was a longtime member and very active in the Grace Episcopal Church of Medford and was a 30 year volunteer at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting and she was also a past mother advisor for Rainbow for Girls.
She will be very sorely missed by her loving daughter; Marjorie E. and her husband George F. Orr of Shrewsbury and son; Charles L. Spencer of Quincy and his wife Anne Spencer of Melrose. Mildred is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Kelly, Matthew, Karen, Rebecca and Kristy, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service was celebrated in the Grace Episcopal Church, 160 High Street, Medford, Thursday, March 5, 2009, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Visiting hours were held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Wednesday, March 4, 2009, from 4 to 7 PM. Interment was in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
