Obituary

LOWELL - Gladys M. (Moores) Stearns, 86, of Lowell, formerly of Dracut, died unexpectedly Monday March 2nd in Saints Memorial Medical Center, Lowell. She was the wife of the late Otis L. Stearns who predeceased her in 1985.

Born in Chelsea on April 14, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Charles S. and Ethel (Miller) Moores. She received her education at the Horace Mann School for the Deaf in Brighton, MA.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Stearns had been employed for many years as a seamstress in the Boston's Garment District.

She was an active member of the Merrimack Valley Deaf Senior Center and in her free time she enjoyed sewing.

Surviving her are her daughter Ethel Morasse of Dracut; three grandchildren Emile "Butch Morasse and his wife Maureen of Dracut, Debra Perry of Lewiston, ME, and Michael Morasse of Providence, RI; four great grandchildren Jared and Kyle Morasse and Katlyn and Lee Perry; one sister Lillian Haley of Wakefield; and several nieces. She was also the sister of the late Calvin Moores and mother-in-law of the late Emile A. Morasse Jr.

Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Thursday from 4 until 8 PM. Her Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday at 11 AM followed by her Graveside Funeral Service at 12 noon in Edson Cemetery, Lowell.
