Cecelia A. "Cece" (Kurkowski) Huston, 70, of New Bedford passed away on Monday, March 2, 2009 after a brief illness. Loving and missing her are husband Gerry Huston Sr., son Kevin Roy and wife Berni, daughters Sharon Rivet and fiancé Joseph Pavao and Sally Frazee and husband Drew, five grandchildren, Morgan, Jessica, Ashley, Alison, and Kate, and several nieces and nephews, and her beloved little dog Janu. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Magdaline Kurkowski, brother Joseph and sisters Lee Miller and Vi Arkin.
Cece left us all far too early and in her lifetime touched so many children and people in a positive way. She will always be remembered as a loving, gentle spirit with the most giving of hearts. Cece was a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother and great friend to all who was blessed to know her.
Her love of children brought her to working for the New Bedford Public School system for over 30 years at the Hannigan and Gomes elementary schools where she will be greatly missed.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 8 AM at the Grace Episcopal Church, New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4- 8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett.
