Annie Ansur Lee, 95, of Tifton died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009, at Saint Anne's Episcopal Church. Father Ron Davidson will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Jim Clayton, Van Dow, Bobby Brannen, John Rakestraw, Stacy Duckworth and Jeff Dixon will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, 2009, form 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Lee was born on April 27, 1913 in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine and was the daughter of Solomon Ansur and Petrone Racila Ansur, both deceased. She moved to Tifton in 1954, bring transferred her by the American Woolen Company as the office manager and paymaster. She retired from the Coastal Plain Experiment Station in 1978. She was a member of Saint Anne's Episcopal Church. She received her B.A. degree from the University of Maine in Orono, Maine in 1933.
Ms. Lee is survived by cousins from Florida, North Carolina and California.
