Obituary

Anne H. Gorski, age 95, of Newton, died peacefully at Wingate Nursing Home in Needham on Feb 28, 2009.
Born April 26, 1913 in So. Boston, Anne was a resident there for 83 years. She was a retired state employee in the Division of Registration where she worked for many years in the State House. A music enthusiast, she excelled in playing the harmonica and played in a musical group, The L Street Melodears, sponsored by the City of Boston that played throughout the city, especially for nursing homes. She was an active member of the Castle Island Assoc, singing in their glee club and performing harmonica solo’s for their annual shows. She was a devoted member of Gate of Heaven Church, St. Peter’s and St. Augustine’s in So. Boston and later at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Newton. She had lived her last years at Cabot Park Village in Newtonville.
Beloved daughter of the late Mary (Varzinski) and Frank Gorski of So. Boston, she is survived by her brother William V. Gorski and his wife Lillian of Norwood, her sister in law Brenda Y. Gorski of Orange Park FL, wife of the late Walter J. Gorski of So. Boston and Orange Park FL; beloved aunt of Joan Devlin and her husband Duke of Newton, Paula and the late Helen Gorski of Orange Park FL; and a cousin Elizabeth and her son Michael Rogers. Loving great aunt of Alan Devlin of Pocasset and Dana Brennan and her husband Christian of Wellesley and great grandaunt of their children Charles and Daniel.
Visiting hours will be in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner on Tues March 10 from 9 AM until 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Help of Christians Church 573 Washington St. Newton at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment Mt. Benedict Cemetery West Roxbury.
