Obituary

WORCESTER___Claire L. Duquette, 83, of Worcester died Sunday March 1, 2009 in the Jewish Healthcare Center.

She leaves three brothers, George P. Duquette and his wife Bella T. of Worcester; Eugene E. Duquette and his wife Jeanne R. of Port St. Lucie, Fl., and Paul E. Duquette and his wife Joan of Worcester; a sister, Lorraine M. Lemieux and her husband, Daniel H. of Millbury and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of George F. and Leona V. (Chevalier) Duquette and lived here all her life.

Miss Duquette was a Teller and Loan specialist 15 years for Bay State Savings Bank and retired in 1978. Before then she was a cashier and then a Manager of the candy dept., 15 years for A & P Stores. She also worked in the office for the family business, Duquette Service Station, which she was associated with for many years. She was a graduate of Commerce High School.

Miss Duquette was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Parish now known as Holy Family Parish. She was active in efforts to re open the church when it was closed in the early 1990’s. She was also a member of the YMCA.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 4 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, March 3 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
