Irene Coleman Smith, 85, of Summerville, widower of Ernest J. Carter and James B. Smith died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Trident Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 1 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, 303 S. Main Street, Summerville. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Charleston.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o’clock Monday evening.
Flowers will be accepted.
Mrs. Smith was born December 16, 1923 in Lodge, South Carolina, daughter of the late Albert and Gertrude Kinard Coleman.

Son: Ernest Carter and his wife Margaret of Summerville
Daughter: Claudia Hiott and her husband Gary of Summerville
6 grandchildren: Jason Carter of Walterboro, Chris Carter of Lake City, Connie Carter of San Antonio, TX, Ernest Lamb of Ft. Meyers, FL, Robyn Harmon of Summerville and Shane Robinson of Ft. Meyers, FL
14 great grandchildren.
