Obituary

HOLYOKE-George E. Roche, 95, of Holyoke, formerly of Worcester, died Friday, February 27th in the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home. He leaves three nieces, Louise A. Hammerman of Westminster, Marguerite Wilcox of Bend, OR and Anne Estabrook of Idaho; two nephews, David Roche of Nashua, NH and Thomas Roche of Lakeland, FL; several grandnephews and grandnieces including Michael Hammerman of Winthrop and Shari Hammerman of La Paz, Mexico; and many great grandnephews and great grandnieces. Two sisters, Ethel Parmenter and Helen Wray, and his brother, Robert Roche predeceased him.
He was born in Ashland, the son of David E. and Louise M. (Chamberlain) Roche. Mr. Roche was employed by Androck Corporation for 20 years as a machinist until his retirement in 1978. He was a radar tech sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving in WWII.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 5th at 11:00 AM in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, 221 Concord Street, Framingham.
