Joaquim R. Craveiro, 76, of Dartmouth died February 26, 2009 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
He was the husband of Maria DeMonte (Soares) Craveiro.
Born in Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde, the son of the late Joaquim Craveiro and Leonora Ramos, he lived in New Bedford and Dartmouth most of his life.
Mr. Craveiro was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
He was formerly employed by Cornell-Dubilier for many years until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife; 4 sons, Antonio Oliveira of Portugal, Joaquim "Jack" Craveiro, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Raynham, Christian Craveiro and his wife Michelle of St. Paul, MN and Mitchell Craveiro of Dartmouth; 2 daughters, Maria Eleanor Craveiro of Portugal and Brenda Craveiro of New Bedford; several grandchildren.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford Tuesday, March 3rd at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday, March 2nd from 4-8 PM.
