Louis J. Chmiel, 81, of Mattapoisett died February 24, 2009.
He was the husband of the late Dorothy H. (Langevin) Chmiel.
He was born in Fairhaven, the son of the late John and Mary (Kurgan) Chmiel.
Mr. Chmiel was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church.
He was an avid boat enthusiast along with his brother Steve.
Survivors include sons, David and John: daughters, Susan Silcox and Anne Heuberger; a brother, Stephen Chmiel; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Stella Wybraniec, Helen O'Brien, Frank Chmiel and Eugene Chmiel.
His private Funeral Mass was held Saturday, February 28th in St. Anthony's Church. Burial followed in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
