Annette (Maniscalco) Burns
.... of Tewksbury formerly of Somerville, Annette (Maniscalco) Burns, age 68, died Friday Feb. 27, 2009
after a lengthy battle with Wegeners and Cancer. She was the beloved wife of John L. Burns of
Tewksbury for 46 years this past June 3rd. She was born in Boston on June 16, 1940 the daughter of
Mary (Sanfilippo) Maniscalco of Tewksbury and the late James Maniscalco. She was raised in the north
end, until age nine she moved to Somerville, and graduated Somerville High School. She moved to
Tewksbury forty one years ago and worked in the Cafeteria at Shawsheen Technical High School for 26
years. Annette was a communicant of St. William's and volunteered at marriage rehearsals for many
years. She was an avid Celtics, Red Sox, and New England Patriots fan. She enjoyed trips to
Foxwoods and Las Vegas. She loved getting together with her friends and spending time with her family
especially her grandchildren. Besides her mother and husband she is survived by her children John L.
Burns Jr. and his wife Debra (Rundgren) of Dracut, Maria (Burns) and Steven Schafer of Pelham, NH.,
and Thomas M. Burns of Florida. Grandmother of Jordan, Deandra, and Adrianna Schafer of Pelham.
Sister of Gus Maniscalco of Saugus. Former sister in law of Lorraine Maniscalco of Tewksbury. She is
also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Her Funeral Mass was held Thursday, March 5, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery. Donations to the Sophia Gordon Cancer
