Michael Sousa, 39, of Westport passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at home. Born in Fall River, son of Manuel A. and Maria N. (Sousa) Sousa of Westport, he had lived in Westport for most of his life. He was employed as a mason for Sousa Masonry of Westport. Mr. Sousa was a Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport and a member of the V.F.W. Ouellette Post 8502 of Westport. He enjoyed fishing and singing karaoke, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
Including his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents: Jordao N. and Joaquina F. Souza of Westport; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Sunday 4 - 7 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
