Lois C. McCormack, 74

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Lois C. (Churchill) McCormack died on Thursday February 26, 2009, the day after her 74th birthday, surrounded by the presence of her adoring family at the Epoch Senior Health Care Center in Norton. She was the beloved wife of John E. “Jack” McCormack.
Born in Weymouth, MA on February 25, 1935 she was a daughter of the late Earl B. and Norma G. (Judkins) Churchill.
She grew up in Weymouth, was educated in Weymouth public schools and was a 1952 graduate of Weymouth High School. Prior to marrying Jack on October 11, 1958 Lois had worked for the New England Telephone Co. in Boston.
Following her marriage she served her family as a dedicated homemaker. When her children were older she returned to work, first in the cafeteria department at the Qualters Middle School in Mansfield and later as a payroll supervisor for Peabody N.E. Construction Co. in Easton.
Lois enjoyed knitting, crocheting, trips taken to various casinos and most importantly spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had made her home in Mansfield for the past 42 years.
In addition to her beloved husband of over 50 years she is survived by her devoted children Susan L. Moran of Mansfield, Steven J. McCormack and his wife Kelly of Somerset and Kelly A. McElreath and her husband T. Kevin of Upton. She was the dear sister of Joan MacDonald and her husband James of Davenport, Florida and was the cherished grandmother of Kirsten, Danielle, T. Daniel, Casey, Andrew, Tyler and Megan and was the loving great grandmother of Salem, Gage and Creek. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Prayer services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday March 2nd at 10:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday March 1st from 4-7 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers Lois’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the American Diabetes Association 330 Congress St. 5th Floor Boston, MA 02110.
