Charles G. Murray, Jr. 64, of Ladson, husband of Sheryn Murray died and went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at the Medical University of South Carolina.
A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 12:30 o’clock at Ridge Baptist Church, Summerville. Burial will be private.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 o’clock until the hour of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ridge Baptist Church or Ridge Christian Academy, 2168 Ridge Church Road, Summerville, SC 29483.
Mr. Murray was born December 10, 1944 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, son of the late Charles G. Murray, Sr. and Janet Dillich Murray. He was a graduate of Susquehanna High School, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and he attended Robert Morris Junior College in Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the USS Caliente in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a 3 team chairman of the deacons and beloved Sunday school teacher at Ridge Baptist Church. He also served on the school board of Ridge Christian Academy and was a board member of the Screven Association.
Surviving in addition to his wife Sheryn of 40 years are:

Son: Charles Murray, III of Aurora, Illinois
3 grandchildren: Karissa, Rachel and Jenna
2 great grandchildren: Karalyn and Makenna
3 sisters: Delores Charles of Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania, Jacqueline Saylor of Lebanon, Pennsylvania and Marie Oversmith of York, Pennsylvania.
He was predeceased by his nephew: Jeffrey Charles.
