NEW BEDFORD — Grace Dearden Branco, age 73, of New Bedford, died Monday, February 23, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of Joseph C. Branco, married 35 yrs.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Hubert and Bertha (Reusch) Dearden, she was a graduate of Bridgewater College where she studied for her Bachelor of Science and Masters Degree in Education. For 38 years, she was a teacher in the New Bedford School Department.
An artistic background enabled her to use her creative talents as a knitter, seamstress, painter and culinary cook. She was a member of the Bristol County, Massachusetts and National Teacher's Associations.
Her husband, Joseph is her lone survivor.
Her funeral will take place on Friday at 11 A.M., in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., at the corner of Elm St., NB with friends being received within the hour prior to her service. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
