Obituary

Catherine D. (MacDonald) Landgren, 89 of West Yarmouth, formerly of Worcester, died Thursday, May 29, in Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston. Her husband of 57 years, Walter E. Landgren, Sr., died in 1990. She leaves 3 sons, Walter E. Landgren, Jr., of Worcester; Donald Landgren of Manning, South Carolina; and Paul Landgren of Eugene, Oregon; 2 daughters, Virginia Skalka, of Levittown, Pa; and Wilma Bogar of Vernon, Ct; a brother, Robert MacDonald of Palm Coast, Florida; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. One grandchild predeceased her.

Mrs. Landgren was born in Worcester, daughter of Donald and Wilhelmina (MacLeod) MacDonald and resided here until moving to West Yarmouth in 1965. She graduated from Commerce High School and Salter Secretarial School. Mrs. MacDonald was a Licensed Practical Nurse working at Worcester State Hospital and nursing homes on the Cape.

She was a member of Greendale Peoples Church, and a former Montachussett Girl Scout leader.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, Mass. 01701.
