Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Andrew W. “Drew” Godwin, “The Secret Gardener”, 46, of 10 Fair Street died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 3, 2009.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut on September 25, 1962, he was the son of the Walter M. and Frances (Johnstone) Godwin of Tucson, Arizona. He was raised and educated in Simsbury, CT and graduated from Simsbury High School. He had been a resident of Gloucester since 1998.
He was an active participant in the Cape Ann Time Bank. He was an avid gardener as well as being a talented fabric artist.
Drew recently graduated from The Trustees of Reservation’s Agricultural certificate program and was very proud of this achievement.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother and two sisters, William T. Godwin of Salem, NH, and Laura Corkum of Manchester, NH and Edith Bednarcyk and her husband Jim of Goshen, NH, several nieces and nephews including Michael Godwin and his wife Raphaelle Steinzig of LosAngeles, CA, Lisa Godwin of Charlottsville , VA, Amy (Godwin) Gilmore and her husband Andrew of Westminister , CA , Tom Godwin, currently deployed with the U.S. Marines, Dan Godwin of Great Barrington, MA, Lindsey Corkum of Raymond, NH, Ashley Corkum of Manchester , NH, Stan Bednarcyk of Los Angeles, CA and Jim Bednarcyk of Goshen, NH.
A memorial service will be held in the spring at a time to be announced.
