Cornelius “Connie” Boermeester, 94, of Malden formerly of Winchester, passed away at home Feb. 24th. Born in South Boston, he was the son of the late Peter G. and Helene (Kat) Boermeester. Mr. Boermeester was a 1931 graduate of Medford High School, and shortly thereafter began his career in the printing industry. He was a World War II Army Veteran, and upon discharge returned to live in Winchester and was employed for many years with American Bank Note in Boston. Connie was a great conversationalist and loved to talk to people. He also enjoyed golfing at the Unicorn Golf Course in Stoneham, bowling with a senior men’s league and playing cribbage. He also loved to travel to Treasure Island, Florida. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor (Dalton) and the late Mary (Travers), and the brother of Joanne Green of Winthrop and the late Yanna DeYoung, Peter, Henry, John and Martin Boermeester. Connie was the Godfather to the late Lynn C. Goodchild, a victim of the terrorist attacks of 9/11, and is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews and grand- nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held in the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Sat. Feb. 28th at 10AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
