Sylvia A. (Anderson) Barrett, 85, of East Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, died Sunday, February 22nd in the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Raymond W. Barrett. She was born in Quincy, brought up in Weymouth, daughter of the late Russell and Ann E. (Holmes) Anderson. Sylvia attended Weymouth Schools. In her earlier years during World War II, Sylvia was a welder at the Hingham shipyard, she then became a homemaker to her husband and seven children .She was a resident of Brockton for many years, then residing in East Bridgewater for the past 25 years.
She is survived by her six sons, Raymond B. and Wayne E. Barrett, both of Wareham, Richard L. Barrett of East Weymouth, John G. Barrett of New Hampshire, Robert L. and William A. Barrett, both of Florida; sister of Robert Anderson of North Caroline, Doris Latham of Wareham, Virginia Wilcox of Missouri and Marion Howard of Quincy: also 15 grandchildren and many great – grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was as also the mother of the late Virginia Barrett and sister of the late Russell, Richard and George Anderson.
