Virginia Louise Gordon, 67, of Water Valley, MS died Monday, February 23, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – NMS in Oxford,, MS. She was born September 21, 1941 to the late William Parker and Lorene Cobb Donaldson in Shelby County, TN. She worked alongside her husband in their family business and was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Water Valley, MS.
The visitation will be Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5 until 7 pm. The funeral service will be Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 1:00 pm in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Fred Pearrow presiding. The committal will be held in Walker Cemetery in Yalobusha County (Sylva Rena Community).
Mrs. Gordon is survived by her husband, James Elbert Gordon of Water Valley, MS; two sons, James Elbert Gordon, Jr. of Batesville, Ms and John Garland Gordon of Water Valley, MS; two sisters, Ann Hart of Grand Junction, TN and Geraldine Walker of Memphis, TN; three brothers, Julian Donaldson of Bartlett, TN, Wallace Donaldson of Arkabutla, MS, and Calvin Donaldson of Moscow, TN; and two grandchildren, Jamie Ellen Gordon and Virginia Renae Gordon.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Hubert Donaldson and Paul Donaldson.
