Mr. Frank J. Gemellaro, age 86 of Somerville died Sunday in Massachusetts General Hospital Boston. He was the husband of the late Marion (Cerchione) Gemellaro.
Mr. Gemellaro was born in Boston, the son of the late Gaetano and Carmela (Rigano) Gemellaro. He was a Fire Fighter, for over 25 years in the Boston Fire Department and served all of that time in various firehouses in Charlestown. A member of Local #718 AFL-CIO. He also had a Push Cart and sold produce in the Haymarket district. He was a fixture at the Cobble Hill apartments where he worked the bingo games and was known as the unofficial mayor of the complex. A man who enjoyed gambling and playing various games of chance, he most enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He leaves a daughter Lorraine Seibel and her husband Mark of NC, two sons, Guy Gemellaro and his wife Maria of Wilmington, John Gemellaro and his wife Lisa of Reading and a late son Frank J. Gemellaro Jr. Loving grandfather of Christina, Erica, Jennifer, Alexandra, Victoria & Emily, Loving great grandfather of Craig, Jared & Julia. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8pm. Services will conclude with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
