WORCESTER-Kristie A. Christo, 87, of Worcester, died Sunday, February 22nd in U-Mass Memorial Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Linda M. (Soter) Christo; his brother, John Christo of Holden; his sister, Vera Kerxhalli of Shrewsbury; many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grand nieces.
He was born in Korca, Albania, the son of Andrew and Angela (Leishnja) Christo. Mr. Christo had owned and operated Christo’s Market in Holden for 40 years retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, the Son’s of St. Mary’s and a long time member of the American Legion. Mr. Christo was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Navy.
The funeral is Thursday, February 26th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 11:00 AM in St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, February 25th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. The Trisagion Service will be held at 6:30 PM Wednesday.
